about us

We started this because we needed it too.

Project e began with a simple observation: the kids who are hungriest to learn often get the least room to do it. Contest math felt like the clearest place to start — concrete, measurable, and full of kids who light up the moment they're handed a problem worth struggling over.

why competition math first

School math moves at the pace of the middle of the class.

Kids who want to go faster — or just sideways, into something stranger and harder — usually don't get the chance until clubs and electives open up in high school. By then, a lot of them have stopped asking. Math competitions give us a ready-made way to close that gap immediately: real problems, a real goal, and a format that already exists for elementary and middle schoolers.

Depth over speed.
That's the whole philosophy.

where we're headed

Math is the first square, not the only one.

As Project e grows, we plan to bring the same approach to other subjects schools tend to shortchange — starting with whatever our volunteers and community are excited to teach next.

how we work

What we're building toward

Always free

Every session, every kid. Cost should never be the reason someone doesn't get to go deeper.

Volunteer-run

Built and taught by people who remember being the kid who wanted more — students, educators, and parents donating their time.

Depth, not pace

We're not racing through material. We're giving kids room to sit with a hard problem until it clicks.
